Joins Parkvale Bank as Controller
MONROEVILLE, PA, July 1, 2010 -- On June 30, 2010, Linda K. Butia joined Parkvale Bank as Controller, bringing to this position valuable knowledge and insight from 30 plus years of banking experience and expertise. As Controller, Linda will be responsible for day-to-day activities of the Bank’s general accounting system, financial information reporting, and external reporting to the Corporation’s shareholders and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). She will work closely with Assistant Controller Lisa E. Forlano to provide timely filing of required reports to the SEC and Senior Assistant Vice President and Accounting Manager Traci S. Bycura to maintain proper records and adequate accounting control and services.
Linda began her career in public accounting in 1975 as a Staff Accountant for PriceWaterhouseCoopers where she managed audit engagements for Fortune 500 companies. She remained in public accounting for four years before beginning a long-term career at BNY Mellon Corporation.
During her career at Mellon, she managed many areas, beginning as Manager of its Corporate Controller’s Group with the responsibility for managing financial reporting to bank regulatory agencies, regulatory examination process, integration of Mellon’s largest bank acquisitions and preparation and issuance of Mellon’s quarterly and annual reports to shareholders and the SEC.
Promoted in 1988 to Vice President and Controller of Mellon’s Collection Services Corporation, Linda was in charge of all finance functions for Grant Street National Bank and Mellon’s Collection Services Corporation. In this position, she prepared all external financial reporting for Grant Street National Bank’s shareholders and regulatory agencies.
After the successful liquidation of the assets of Grant Street National Bank, she transferred as Vice President to the Service Delivery area where she designed Business Recovery Plans and risk assessment documents for a group of approximately 500 staff. She remained there for 3 years before being reassigned to the securities processing area of the bank.
Well versed in securities by 2004, she was then asked to transfer to Mellon’s Reconciliation Services Group with responsibilities to re-engineer and streamline management reporting functions, and develop complex risk assessment processes.
Linda earned her B.A. degree from Westminster College, New Wilmington, PA, is a licensed Certified Public Accountant.
