Check Imaging

Check imaging is Parkvale Bank’s state-of-the-art check management system that saves you valuable time and space. It captures “pictures” of your checks and reproduces them on a laser printer in an easy-to-use format similar to the one shown at the bottom of this page. Your statements are 3-hole punched to fit in a binder provided at no charge to Parkvale Bank customers.

Here are just some of the benefits Parkvale Bank's Check Imaging has to offer:

·Easy to read statements
·Easier Balancing
·Storage Convenience
·Easy Reference

Here’s how it works:

·Each month you will receive a computer-generated printout with images of the front side of all cancelled checks paid during the month. Imaged copies of the back side of checks are available when needed.
·Check images are printed 2-sided on 8.5” x 11” paper that has been pre-punched for insertion into a 3-ring binder.
·Check images are sorted in numerical order for easier account balancing.
·Checks will be imaged 20 per sheet, 10 on each side. The check number, date each check was paid and dollar amount are printed below each item.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does Parkvale Bank provide imaged statements? For two very important reasons: First, it makes balancing your checkbook and keeping files much easier for you. No more sorting and storing of bulky, loose checks. Also, it helps keep our costs down, which means we can keep our fees as low as possible.

How will I balance my accounts? Your statement will contain a recap of the month’s activity and balance, as well as check images presented in numerical order.

What if I need a cancelled check for proof of payment? The IRS, local and state government, as well as businesses throughout the country accept check images as valid proof of payment. In fact, with your checks in numerical order and conveniently stored in your Parkvale Bank three-ring binder, it should be a simple task to find the cancelled check you need. If you need a copy of a check image you have not yet received, we will quickly provide the item by fax, e-mail or regular mail as per your choice.

How can I make sure my imaged copies are legible? Your image copies will be clearer if you use black or blue ink. Some check designs may not image as clearly as others. If you are having a problem, just ask us and we’ll assist you in selecting an “image friendly” design that will work better.

What will the Bank do with all of the original paper checks? After scanning your checks for storage on disk, we will safeguard them for up to 60 days. The Bank will retain check images for seven years.
