MONROEVILLE, PA, DECEMBER 19, 2008—The most cherished time of year is fast-approaching - friends and family gather, parties swirl with excitement and evening attire sparkles. It is easy to be swept away by all of the commotion and forget that not everyone in our community is fortunate enough to celebrate this wonderful time of the year.
That is why Parkvale Bank has teamed up with HEARTH, a local organization that offers transitional housing and job training for homeless women with children, to make this holiday season a little brighter. With “wish lists” in tow, Parkvale employees purchased, wrapped and delivered gifts to sixteen HEARTH families in time for Santa, along with sixteen $20.00 grocery gift cards for the families.
This holiday season, when you find yourself preparing for yet another fancy party, take a moment to think about the various ways to reach out to those who will not have the opportunity to join in on this season’s festivities. After all, every one of us has the potential to add a little “sparkle” to the lives of others this December.
